Waterproof planks. Wipe up spills so water does not sit along the edges.

Floor needs

A flat subfloor and a small gap at the walls so the floor can move. Large dips must be leveled first.

Care

Sweep or vacuum, then damp mop with a neutral cleaner. No steam mops. Felt pads under furniture.

Keep in mind

It floats, so heavy fixed items like kitchen islands should not sit on top of it.

Bedrooms, living rooms and hallways. Very scratch resistant, realistic wood look, good value.

Water

Resists everyday spills if wiped quickly, but the core is wood fiber. Not a good choice for full bathrooms or laundry rooms.

A flat subfloor and an underlayment pad. Over concrete, a moisture barrier is needed.

Care

Sweep or vacuum and use a barely damp mop. Never wet mop or steam. Felt pads under furniture.

Keep in mind

It can sound a little louder underfoot than vinyl.

The vinyl is waterproof. The concrete must be dry enough for the glue to hold.

A very smooth, clean subfloor. Small bumps can show through, so it often needs more prep.
